Al serves as Chief Consultant – Brand & Marketing Strategy for Visionary Philanthropic Consulting and is also the founder of Chaney Marketing Strategy, specializing in identifying and implementing effective marketing strategies and innovative tactics.

Prior to establishing his consulting practice, Al gained 35+ years of marketing, advertising, brand- building, strategy development, project management and leadership experience within 4 world- class organizations: General Mills, The Pillsbury Company, American Red Cross, and Marshfield Clinic. While at the Clinic, Al led the marketing, PR, and communications functions during his effective 10-year tenure. He adroitly re-positioned the Clinic, a regional player, to become the most recognized healthcare brand in Wisconsin. Further, Al oversaw the completion of nearly 40 market research studies, which gleaned vital insights that led to competitive advantages in positioning, advertising, communications, branding, website development and facilities management.

Al earned his MBA from Columbia University, New York, NY; and, his BA from the University of Connecticut, Storrs, CT. Upon his high school graduation, Al enlisted in the U.S. Army to attend the United States Military Academy Preparatory School (West Point Prep).

On a personal note, Al is a dedicated and proud father of three wonderful daughters. Throughout his entire adult life, Al has been an active and involved parent and community member. Al has enthusiastically served on numerous community boards and coached various youth athletic teams. Currently, he sits on the boards of the Wisconsin Institute for Public Policy & Service, Marshfield Area Convention & Visitors Bureau dba Visit Marshfield, North Central Wisconsin Workforce Development Board, and the Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra.
