David Krause has extensive experience in philanthropic leadership for the past thirty-nine years. He has built programs and teams, and effectively managed significant campaigns. His experience includes:

President and CEO of the Parkland Hospital Foundation where he completed the nation’s first public private partnership in healthcare: a $150 Million campaign.

Senior Vice President for Development at Children’s Medical Center Dallas from

1996 to 2005, giving leadership to all of Children’s philanthropic endeavors, including a successful $150,000,000 campaign;

Vice President of the Baylor Health Care System Foundation from 1987 to 1995;

Conducting a national campaign for the Lutheran church from 1984-1986 in Chicago in preparation for the formation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America; honorary chair of that campaign was Dr. Martin E. Marty;

Serving as director of development at Christ Seminary in St. Louis from 1980-1984;

David received his B.A. degree from Valparaiso University, Valparaiso, Indiana, in 1970 with a major in German and a minor in Greek. He holds a Master of Divinity degree from the Lutheran School of Theology, Chicago, Illinois (1974) and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Christ Seminary, St. Louis (1983). He served as Pastor of Peace Lutheran Church in Tifton, GA from 1974 until returning to the St. Louis seminary to work in its development office in 1979, during which time he completed his doctorate, with his thesis entitled, “Toward Sacramental Giving.”

David is a certified financial planner (CFP) and holds the highest certification in health care philanthropy, the Fellows designation (FAHP), offered by the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy.

He currently serves on the Board of the International Bonhoeffer Society. He is also on the Steering Committee of the “Go Forth” campaign of the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago and the Board of the Lutheran Music Program, headquartered in Minneapolis.

David and his wife, Cynthia, reside in Dallas and are active members of the Church of the Incarnation Episcopal Church. They have three children and four grandchildren.
